As part of the two-day national workshop on Climate Change, Digital Transformation and Carbon Emission Reduction in Nepal, organised by Kathmandu BernHardt College in collaboration with the University Grants Commission (UGC) Nepal, the opening session on June 6, 2026 commenced with a comprehensive presentation of the workshop's guiding objectives and anticipated outputs. The workshop overview, presented to all distinguished participants and guests, outlined three principal objectives: a systematic gap mapping exercise to identify critical deficiencies in Nepal's current carbon mitigation framework, the development of a forward-looking digital roadmap for sustainable environmental action, and the conceptualisation of concrete pilot projects with practical implementation potential. The session further identified the Kathmandu Declaration as the primary and most significant expected output of the two-day deliberations, representing a collective and formally documented scholarly and policy commitment toward low-carbon development in Nepal.
